These photos are of Rena Majore, our favourite local beach. It has the advantage of being quiet in August, when La Pelosa at Stintino is packed. Why? Holiday-making Italians don't walk anywhere and Rena Majore is a steep 15-minute walk from the end of a bumpy track. We have prepared a satellite map to help you find this and our other 2 local beaches. Lampianu is the easiest access, and therefore the most frequented, but also the least sandy; the snorkling and harpoon fishing, however, are superb, as are the ricci (sea urchins) which make for a great Christmas feast on the beach, accompanied by bread & white wine. Muratore is the most hidden - effectively a private beach. All three offer spectacular sunsets.
